Ehsan Fardjadniya
Omschrijving
Ehsan Fardjadniya is performance- en beeldend kunstenaar. Hij werd in 2000 verbannen uit Iran vanwege zijn politieke cartoons, waarna hij asiel aanvroeg in Nederland. Hij studeerde aan de Koninklijke Academie van Beeldende Kunsten in Den Haag en heeft een Master in Fine Arts van Goldsmiths' College in Londen. Kunst en activisme komen samen in Fardjadniya's werk, waarvoor zijn "gepolitiseerde" lichaam - als politieke balling en man van kleur - het uitgangspunt vormt. Zijn persoonlijke ervaringen en worstelingen met institutioneel racisme komen terug in de aangrijpende verhalen over migratie die hij vertelt.

I was born in the land that they recently bombed. I was at the age of the drawing of the envelopue when they started the invasion and made our land unsafe but we stayed, loving our land and water, until exile was enforced. Since a few years ago, for the first time in decades of living in exile, i have a house with a garden. I didn’t buy it but in the rental contract it seems that no one cab=n evict me form it. I’m sending soem of my garden sand to your garde so no one can evict yours.
