Fāsh: HOME — Platform & First Issue Launch

17.11.2026
16:00–20:00
de Appel, Tolstraat 160, Amsterdam

Fāsh invites you to the launch of its platform and the first edition, HOME. The programme begins with an introduction by the platform’s founders and curatorial team, Katayoon Barzegar and Niloufar Nematollahi. Following this introduction, the artists featured in the online platform’s first edition will present their contributions.

After a short break, we will come together in smaller groups with the artists to explore the Fāsh website more closely. Through collective readings and conversations, participants will have the opportunity to navigate the platform, and encounter the commissioned works and texts more intimately. The final part of the programme brings everyone back together for a collective Q&A and reflection, concluding with a collective dinner.

Fāsh is an online art platform that looks at artistic practices through the lens of what they preserve, and what realities and histories—often left out of dominant narratives—this act of preservation can unveil. Against this broader focus, it curates thematic issues featuring works across different media, from image and text to sound. Each piece is accompanied by a customised text developed through conversations with the artist. Fāsh emerged from a desire to facilitate collaborations not only across the growing geographical and political distances between artists in Iran and those in the diaspora, but also among broader artistic communities.

For its first issue, Fāsh brings together artists whose works trace different relationships to home: as a place left behind, a space threatened by destruction, a collection of objects carried across borders, or a memory reconstructed from afar. Across these practices, HOME considers archiving through artistic practice as a way of preserving stories that might otherwise be lost to war, migration, or forgetting.
