de Appel Periodical is a biannual online publication by de Appel’s team and invited contributors. It offers reflection and context around our programme and archive in the periods between exhibitions, bringing forward conversations, archival materials, interviews and outcomes of workshops or gatherings that are not always publicly visible.

From April 2026 to September 2027, as part of her broader project as Visiting Fellow at Amsterdam School of Cultural Analysis (University of Amsterdam), Helen Grogan will engage with the practices and sensibilities of the archive. She will build on discussions and research she did in 2023, through focused research on the De Dans Voorbij (1980) exhibition archive.
