The documentary Final Cut uncovers the truth behind Body Art, a controversial Dutch TV programme shot in 1975. The programme featured Thomas Lips, an intense performance at de Appel by artist Marina Abramović.

de Appel Archive welcomes
Helen Grogan as artist-researcher

From April 2026 to September 2027, as part of her broader project as Visiting Fellow at Amsterdam School of Cultural Analysis (University of Amsterdam), Helen Grogan will engage with the practices and sensibilities of the archive. She will build on discussions and research she did in 2023, through focused research on the De Dans Voorbij (1980) exhibition archive.
