Marc Camille Chaimovicz "Partial eclipse"

25.04–10.05.1980
de Appel, Brouwersgracht 196, Amsterdam
'To describe Partial eclipse would be inappropriate. Suffice to recall that there were one hundred and sixty images, in approximately twenty sequences (mostly black and white), projected onto a screen with a dissolve unit so that each image flowed into the next. A man [Marc Camille Chaimovicz] interrupted these images by walking in a figure of eight, behind and in front of the screen, qualifying the images both in actuality and shadow. This passivity was countered by a woman [Helen Sear] sitting in front of the screen, who read a text in twelve sections. Background was Discreet Music by Brian Eno. The piece lasted for about forty minutes.' (Marc Camille Chaimovicz, press release De Appel, April 1980.)
