Series 05: 20-years anniversary of Nell Donkers

This is The Remote Archivist, a surprise issue (Series 05), lovingly crafted for a special occasion. This archivist – yours truly – has been taking care of de Appel Archive for 20 years, and received this special issue as a
gift. I remain humbled, happy and grateful for all the allies who have made the archive what it is today: the artists, the curators, the (interim) directors, the researchers and the curious, the walker-in's and the passer-by's, the neighbors and the far-away. And of course the staff of de Appel, and all previous staff members and work forces, that know how to throw a good party. I want to specially thank the friends of the archive who have sent in their beautiful entries and Martha Jager, Bardhi Haliti, Zuzana Kostelanská, Matt Hinkley and Jacquine van Elsberg for hijacking The Remote Archivist and making this special one. We’re off to a good start in 2023!

Thank you all, Nell
