A life changing experience

22.01.2011
de Appel, Jongensschool, Eerste Jacob van Campenstraat 59

On Saturday 22nd of January from 5 -7 pm de Appel hosts the project ‘AGING’, developed as a workshop by Sandberg Fine Arts Students under the guidance of artist Alicia Framis.

As a result of his participation in the workshop Edwin Stolk organizes the action/happening "A LIFE CHANGING EXPERIENCE" at the entrance of De Appel. He invites people through all kinds of media, from facebook to presentations on several occasions, to create a queue from the pay-desk inside De Appel, to the sidewalk outside. Between 15.00-15.30 the participants in the queue will not enter the building.

This happening reacts on recent governmental ideas that visitor ratings are crucial for the assessment of art institutions. Stolk wants to bridge the gap between contemporary art, its institutions and a large part of the potential audience. He hopes that a long line of people will show that not everything is measurable by only counting heads.

Edwin Stolk invites you to participate in this happening and hopes you will join him in forming the queue.
