Throughout the exhibition period of Hiwa K: To remember, sometimes you need different archeological tools, De Appel organises a variety of activities to share knowledge and experiences relating to the main themes of the exhibition. The artwork deDutched will be a point of departure to share memories and learn from each other’s migrant backgrounds.

During the activities we will cook, dance, draw and play music to activate memories. The Ensemble creates new experiences to collect and to share knowledge. Old and newly formed stories will be collected in audio recordings and they will become part of Hiwa K his exhibition.

The Ensemble of Memories is developed together with the Kurdish community and with neighbours of De Appel.
