Jacob Dwyer is a video and audio artist based in Amsterdam. His work centres around personal encounters, that could equally be seen as fables or heresy, in which he positions himself as outsider and the video/audio as confidant, to a series of often surreal observations, commentary and confessions. Jacob has a masters in experimental film from Kingston university and completed a residency at De Ateliers in 2014. His work has been shown in art spaces and film festivals including, IFFR (Rotterdam), IDFA (Amsterdam), Good Children (New Orleans) and Baltic 39 (Newcastle). He has completed residencies at Deltaworkers (New Orleans) and Rupert (Lithuania)

OA/AO (onder andere/among others) is an ongoing series of screenings, presentations, and conversations that focus around a single work or object. These intimate gatherings feature a range of special guests who are invited to talk about a recent project, idea, or thing, followed by a conversation in which we encourage audience participation. Through these short presentations, De Appel assembles an ongoing collage of the current critical and creative world, asking invited guests to think through and articulate a position towards the material they present, among others.
