_ao_ao_ing ensemble, a performance collective based between Shanghai and Amsterdam, transplants a real Shanghai market stall onto Albert Cuypmarkt. They will run Linzi's Party Supplies: feather fans, paper lanterns, glittery tinsel, plastic dice, party props in fluorescent pink and electric blue — disposable and cheap goods of festivity and celebration.

Open Call: Mural de Nieuwe Meent
de Appel is pleased to announce a new collaborative project with Framer Framed, If I Can’t Dance, I Don’t Want To Be Part Of Your Revolution and the housing cooperative de Nieuwe Meent (dNM). As part of this collaboration, we are launching an open call for a mural that will inhabit the building’s north facade.

de Appel Archive welcomes
Helen Grogan as artist-researcher
From April 2026 to September 2027, as part of her broader project as Visiting Fellow at Amsterdam School of Cultural Analysis (University of Amsterdam), Helen Grogan will engage with the practices and sensibilities of the archive. She will build on discussions and research she did in 2023, through focused research on the De Dans Voorbij (1980) exhibition archive.
