Are you aged 15–19 and curious about art? Then join us as a Teenage Curator: you'll discover what a curator does, meet artists and come up with your own project together. You'll learn to collaborate, present and organise. At de Appel, artists, young people and local residents are given the space to create art together, share stories and discover new ideas. Here, you don't just look at art — you participate!

What will you be doing?
○ Visiting exhibitions and art institutions;
○ Meeting artists and curators;
○ Working with other young people;
○ Devise and organise your own art project;
○ Show your story to the city.

Practical
For who: curious young people from Amsterdam Zuid (aged 15–19) who speak Dutch

When: From 10 October 2025 to June 2026, on Fridays from 17:00-20:00 (±3 hours), or sometimes on other days. We meet weekly for sessions, workshops and visits to exhibitions or artists. On average, you will be busy for about three hours per week.

Cost: free + you will receive an allowance (13 euros per hour)
