It is with great sadness that we received the news of the untimely passing of Pope.L
Pope.L has been one of the daring artists de Appel has worked with over the last years. The collaboration originated under directorship of Monika Szewczyk, who developed the courageous project with him. De Appel team wants to acknowledge the outstanding brightness, wit, and wisdom that Pope.L shared during this project, which acted as a mirror to our Dutch context, and often confronted ourselves.
