Opening hours library Tuesdays and Wednesdays 2 – 6 pm

The American Esopus magazine includes contributions from various disciplines and thus gives a complete picture of contemporary creative practices, presented in a striking design and with hardly any advertising. Esopus employs a purposefully neutral editorial voice in order to make the magazine a distributor, rather than interpreter, of its content.
Each edition of Esopus presents projects of established and emerging artists in the form of posters, leaflets, foldouts or hand assembled sculptures. Often complex print processes, unique paper and the use of specially formulated inks.

Besides short plays, visual essays, film clips, poetry and fiction by new authors, there are also recurring items. In "Modern Artifacts" are treasures reproduced from the Museum of Modern Art Archives. "Guarded Opinions" is a platform for the views of guards about the art they protect. Unpublished photos of the legendary Magnum Photos Archive find a haven in the section "Analog Recovery." Each issue ends with a themed audio compilation, for which musicians are invited to contribute a new song based on a particular topic.
