Symposium – On Adorno: the Art of Critique
de Appel, Prins Hendrikkade 142, Goethe-Institut Amsterdam, Herengracht 470
On the occasion of the first-ever Dutch translation of Theodor W. Adorno’s key works Prismen and Ohne Leitbild, we are pleased to present On Adorno: the Art of Critique. Taking place on 19 and 20 September, this symposium will provide a forum in which to contemplate the contemporary relevance of Adorno’s cultural criticism. Can Adorno’s work still enlighten us about the art of critique? If so, how? Lectures and discussions will endeavour to answer these questions by elaborating on the newly translated essays and their relevance for present-day reflections on art and culture.
Organised by Octavo publicaties, University of Amsterdam / Amsterdam School for Cultural Analysis, Goethe-Institut Amsterdam, de Appel arts centre.
