Talk at Art Amsterdam: The Gallerist Programme

15.05.2011
Art Amsterdam, RAI. Europaplein, Amsterdam

De Appel arts centre recently announced that it was collaborating on the development of a new programme with The Fair Gallery collective: The Gallerist Programme, a developmental programme for young art professionals whose ambition is to work in the gallery sector. The programme is specially designed to provide prospective gallery owners with a year of reflection in which they can develop their ideas and acquire experiences and skills before they open their own gallery.

From 2.30 to 4 p.m. on Sunday 15 May, Ann Demeester (director, de Appel arts centre), Jan Mot (director and owner of Jan Mot, Brussels and co-initiator of the Gallerist Programme) and Olav Velthuis (Economic sociologist at the University of Amsterdam and a member of the advisory board of the Gallerist Programme) will participate in a critical round of questions led by Anna Tilroe (Professor of Art and Culture, Radboud University, Nijmegen). What are the aims of the programme, who is it aimed at and why is it actually being launched now?
