de Appel, Brouwersgracht 196, Amsterdam

'If you own one of those miniature cassette recorders with even smaller headphones and you’re visiting the Netherlands this summer, you will be able to experience a genuine RAR (Radio Art Resonance). Just visit De Appel on Wednesday or Thursday with your equipment. There you will get preparatory instructions for The Walk. You can buy one, two or three cassettes for a guided tour through Holland and the Radio Art Guide (RAG), a 64 page booklet. All you have to do is to insert the first cassette in your mini recorder and to follow the instructions. The Walk might take several days and includes trains, busses, boats, visits, hotels etc. and a special Radio Art Transmission (RAT) on NOS Radio. A national broadcast only for you, adding extra instructions to your Walk. You can book your first tour on Wednesday July 8th (11.00 AM-18, 00 PM and 20.00-22.00 PM) & Thursday July 9th (11.00 AM-18. 00 PM). In July and August a new Walk will start every Wednesday & Thursday from De Appel, Brouwersgracht 196, Amsterdam.' ('Get radioed when in Holland. Don’t miss The Walk, Radio Art of Willem de Ridder', De Appel, 1 (1981) 1, p. 24.)
