For this year’s Museumnacht, de Appel’s Teenage Curators have taken the lead in shaping the programme. The Teenage Curators programme brings young people together to develop and realise their own art projects. For Museumnacht, they have put together an evening driven by their own ideas, interests and energy. Among others they have invited artists Yamuna Forzani and Isabella Giacomelli to lead workshops in textile collage and digging in the archive of de Appel.

Expect creative workshops, activities and music chosen by the Teenage Curators, created for and by young people. For example, artist Yamuna Forzani will be running a textile workshop where you can express your creativity with fashion, colour and materials. They’ll also be inviting other artists and creators to lead workshops and activities that they’ve curated themselves.

An evening to hang out, create something new, meet people and experience how young people are shaping Museumnacht themselves.

As part of their Museumnacht takeover, the Teenage Curators invite artist Yamuna Forzani to facilitate the workshop ReStitched. Bring along an item of clothing and give it a completely new look using colour, fabric and patches. Don’t have any clothes with you? No problem: make your own patch and let your creativity run wild. Finished creating? Then step into the photo booth, either on your own or with a friend.

Join Isabella Giacomelli as she delves into the Appel archive to discover posters, images, texts and other artefacts. Choose whatever catches your eye, moves you or gets you thinking. Create stickers and new images using material from the archive and add your own ideas. Together, we’ll create a new work that brings together the archive and visitors’ ideas. corecore is a network for contemporary electronic and “online” music, hosting concerts, club nights and listening sessions in Amsterdam and elsewhere. During Museumnacht at de Appel, they’ll be playing music inspired by the Teenage Curators’ playlists.
