Unconditional Design: SELLonBIKE
13:00–17:00
de Appel, Tolstraat 160, Amsterdam

As part of the ongoing research by Unconditional Design on mobile transactions in Jakarta, SELLonBIKE is a local street market that turns bicycles into traveling showcases. Inspired by street sellers across Indonesia, this event invites anyone with homemade products, used goods, or creative services to sell from their creatively transformed bikes.
SELLonBIKE is more than just a marketplace – it’s a celebration of bicycle culture and collective creativity. Sellers are encouraged to customize their bikes into eye-catching displays and share their stories on the move. In Jakarta slang, “selon” means ‘ to capture a spirit of boldness or recklessness’. When someone is described as a "selon", it refers to a nonchalant attitude, doing something without worrying too much about the consequences.
Whether you're an artist, designer, cook, collector, or hobbyist – if you’ve got something to sell, and a bike to show it, we want you in. If you’d like to participate, please contact us via Whatsapp: +62818657579.
This event is organised as an artistic experiment in alternative economies, convened by damdam from the Temporary Masters programme Lumbung Practice at Sandberg Instituut and hosted by de Appel.
