Ruwe Diamant Festival 2025

05.07.2025
13:00–18:30
de Appel, Tempel, Cinetol, CC Amstel and OBA

During the Ruwe Diamant Festival, we will showcase the versatility and beauty of the Diamantbuurt neighbourhood, its cultural organisations and, above all, its emerging talent. On Saturday 5 July the square on Tolstraat and Cullinanplein will be filled with music, theatre, performances, a market and sports. We will conclude with a neighbourhood meal at 6pm.

Five cultural institutions will showcase their collaboration with a very diverse programme. There will be a panna competition, DJs and breakdancing at CC Amstel, a theatre tent on the square on Tolstraat with music and performances, a bouncy castle for the kids, a whisper chair to relax in, a smoothie bike for essential vitamins, the Swap Club will be there to swap clothes, you can turn your T-shirts into works of art, and there will be a large camper van where children can put together their own museum and listen to stories.

The programme, including the neighbourhood meal, is free to attend!

The workshop is suitable for children aged 6 and up and for families. You can participate alone or together. The workshop will be in Dutch.

Singing about what's bothering you? During this try-out of the Complaints Choir – led by musician Azubike Onwuka and in collaboration with de Appel and community centre Plan C – participants explore their biggest and smallest complaints through song and composition. A diverse group of singers and non-singers come together to turn their frustrations into music. This try-out is a first public moment in the run-up to a larger presentation in the autumn. Come watch, listen, and maybe even join in!
