Clarisse Verbeek

Clarisse Verbeek holds a bachelor's and master's degree in Applied Economic Sciences and recently completed a postgraduate programme in Asia-Europe Cultural Curatorship Studies at the University of Antwerp, Belgium. She is aspiring to develop a curatorial practice from this background and her interest in economics' original meaning — sustaining the conditions for life — against its collapse into chrematistics, the accumulation of wealth that defines the Capitalocene. Working across international contexts, she leans toward projects that engage with contemporary socio-political urgencies. Clarisse also co-runs BoundingBox, a platform for virtual exhibitions on the web.
