Starting from his hobby of archiving stories
and manuscripts as well as collecting
books over a thirty-year period, Bernad
Tukan, a teacher, writer and cultural figure
of East Flores, founded the East Flores
archive and study institution in Larantuka.
Today, SimpaSio has transformed into an
organisation that accommodates various
youth activities related to the introduction
and preservation of Larantuka culture.
