Orestis Lazouras

Description

Orestis Lazouras is a sculptor based in Nicosia. His practice is primarily influenced by local romanticism, fictional identities as well as a constant exploration of modern-day culture as he perceives it. He applies the method of ‘styling’ as a process of arranging materials that transpose the key of desire in order to give rhythm and rhyme to his assemblages. He has exhibited in Nicosia, Athens, Paris, Geneva and in 2017 was part of the Cyprus Pavilion at the Venice Biennale (curated by Jan Verwoert) with his art collective Neoterismoi Toumazou.
