Toula Liasi

Toula Liasi (b. 1957, Ayia Triada, Karpasia) is an artist working between The Hague and Cyprus. Having grown up in the enclaved community of Ayia Triada, she left the island in the mid-1970s and has since developed a practice shaped by displacement and her ongoing relationship to home. Over the past decades, Liasi has worked across painting, drawing, pedagogical initiatives, and research-based projects, often turning to questions of memory and the everyday realities of a divided island. Her work engages closely with the experiences of missing persons and enclaved communities, how these events continue to shape Cypriot historiographies and their narration.
