Victoria Soyan Peemot

Dr Victoria Soyan Peemot is the Kone research fellow in Indigenous studies at the University of Helsinki and research affiliate at the Center for Northeast Asian Studies of Tohoku University. Her academic monograph, The Horse in My Blood: More-than-Human Kinship in the Altai and Sayan Mountains (Berghahn Books, 2024), explores postsocialist identity negotiations among Inner Asian pastoralists, their symbolically significant horses, and sentient homelands.
