Description

Lucy Cotter (Ireland, 1973) is an independent writer and curator. Among other projects, she was curator of Cinema Olanda: Wendelien van Oldenborgh, the Dutch representation at the 57th Venice Biennale (2017), with a parallel programme at Witte de With Center for Contemporary Art, Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam and EYE Film Museum. Widely published in catalogues and journals of contemporary art, Cotter is currently authoring a book entitled Art Knowledge: Between the Known and the Unknown and is editor of the forthcoming volume Reclaiming Artistic Research. Cotter has lectured at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie and the Sandberg Institute and was head of the newly founded Master Artistic Research at the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague. She holds a PhD in Cultural Analysis from the University of Amsterdam.
