Natascha Hagenbeek

Description

Natascha Hagenbeek is a Dutch artist with Indo-Dutch roots. She founded I can change the world with my two hands (2010), a community arts project focused on food commoning. She initiated the Whole Commons Catalog (2019) and the Commons Flag (2021), making the commons visible as a force for change. She connects histories with visions of ecological renewal and ritual practice. In May We Evolve (2024), she connected archival material on colonial extraction to the colonial heritage of the KIT building and present-day commons practices to imagine decolonial futures. In In het spoor van onze voorouders (2025), she initiated a ritual-based artistic process exploring animistic practices and ancestral reciprocity. Natascha studied at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie, the Jan van Eyck Akademie, and is currently enrolled in the Lumbung master’s program at the Sandberg Institute. She is trained in biodynamic farming, permaculture, and is a certified compost master.
