Praneet Soi (1971)
Description
Praneet Soi (1971) combines ancient traditions of story-telling, referring both to the Flemish Primitives as well as to what was prescribed at the Kalighat school of painting which existed in 19th century Calcutta. He investigates how well-known figures were depicted earlier, and the affinity that he sees with the way that contemporary 'heroes' are portrayed in the media.
